Tights.

This fall I'm doing a lot of outfits with tights, shorts, oversized T-Shirts, dresses, and scarves. I'm thinking of pairing them with motorcycle boots, doc martens, or converse high tops. I'm definitely thinking more grunge without the studs this season :)

"Where are you and I'm so sorry"-Blink 182

Hey guys! It's crazy, a month has passed since I've last posted! I never knew I would have such a crazy end of the summer but I ended up pretty busy! So I have a vision for this blog but I CAN'T STAND the new template designer! So I've been meaning to do this for a while but tonight I finally decided to try some new looks out. I'm not too crazy about this one but we'll work with what we have. So obviously since school started, I've done some great back to school shopping! I took the pictures and everything but I'm also thinking of changing my ideas for posting on this blog and I don't really know if I want to continue my 'new buys' posts. I want to do all of that through outfit posts but it's really rough for me during the week with school and dance every other day. So I don't really know what the future holds for la bonne vie. I mean I'll always have the blog up, I'm not taking it down anytime soon. But I don't know how often I am going to be posting. But thanks for reading and please stay tuned for more posts soon :)

My buys from Material Girl

Blazer: $36

Bandeau: $5

Crop Top: $18

Leotard: $18

Harem Pants: $20

This line is really cheap and extremely 80's! I've always wanted a pair of harem pants but I never found a pair that looked good on me. These fit perfectly, they're not too baggy and don't sag too low. I'm pairing that with the leotard and possibly the blazer. The blazer came with a tulle flower pinned to it but I didn't like it so I took it off.

Material Girl

Tomorrow Madonna and her daughter Lourdes will be launching their own junior clothing line at Macys. The line is affordable with the price range is affordable, $12-$40 with the collection containing everything from bags, tops, shoes, dresses, skirts, and blazers.
The collection was inspired by lourdes and her love for 80's fashion

I'll be heading to Macys tomorrow to check out the collection so check back to see if I have any new buys!

Recent Buys: LongChamp, Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, M.A.C., and American Apparel

I know this is extremely late but I never thought I would be this busy! Between F.I.T., spending time with family, and hanging out with friends I never got a chance to post this! I'm really sorry but I hope you enjoy!
A few months ago I did a post with a few of these that I wanted. I went WoodBury Commons outlets upstate and bought this at Long Champ for $98. I've used it a few times but I'm trying to save it more for when school starts again.

UrbanOutfitters,  KNT, Originally $98 on sale for $30 with an extra 50% off I got it for 15 :)

UrbanOutfitters, Ecote, Originally $48, on sale for $19.99, with an extra 50% off I got it for $9.99 :)

These next buys are from my favorite sale of the year, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

Nordstrom, Love by Design, before sale $46, Anniversary sale $29.90

Nordstrom, Fleurish, before sale $36, Anniversary sale $23.90

Nordstrom, Jolt Style, before sale $44.00, Anniversary $27.90

Nordstrom, Steve Madden, $86.90

American Apparel, Nail Lacquer, 3 for $15
(left to right)
Cotton, Malibu Green, L'Espirit
I first tried L'Espirit and it wasn't my favorite, now I have on Malibu Green and I love it!

M.A.C., Alice+Olivia Military, $12.
I got the last one at my counter and I love it! The only thing is that it chips very easily! But it dries very fast.

I hope you enjoyed reading! Any questions/comments/suggestions leave them below :)

Summer of Love

UrbanOutfitters, Pins and Needles Ruffle Romper, $58
Vintage Louis Vuitton Tote
UrbanOutfitters, Ecote Shoes
American Eagle Sunglasses

I started my first day of FIT summer live today and this is what I wore. I actually wore this on the fourth too, and I had my hair in pig tails which made me look like a flower child :p

Anyways, my classes seem interesting! I'm still taking middle school because I thought I would be more comfortable with that because I won't be in high school until this september. My first class is Fashion Print Design, It's basically just creating/printing our own graphic designs. My second class is Hot Fashion Trends, which is a design class where I'll be able to practice drawing figures more and designing  based on my newest favorite trends.

Some like it Haute

Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture

Chanel Fall 2010 Couture

Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture

Valentino Fall 2010 Couture

Aren't these collections gorgeous?
So  I was doing some research and in order to create a couture collection, or to declare a fashion house a couture house, you need to be a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.

these are the guidelines
  • Design made-to-order for private clients, with one or more fittings.
  • Have a workshop (atelier) in Paris that employs at least fifteen people full-time.
  • Each season (i.e., twice a year), present a collection to the Paris press, comprising at least thirty-five runs/exits with outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear.

Interesting stuff right?
